Development Manager

Location: Remote – anywhere within the United States

Reports to: V.P. Corporate Engagement

The Strategic Corporate Engagement Team (SCE team) has overall responsibility for both revenue growth and relationship management with more than 80 corporate funding partners.  SCE is a high-performance team that regularly demonstrates collaboration, stretch-goal-setting, flexibility, strong communication, and commitment to each other.

The Development Manager will report to the V.P. of Corporate Engagement but work closely with the full SCE team.  This is a new position created to build a support structure and bench strength to the corporate engagement team. Our growth and sizable number of funding partners needs increased support so that we can continue as the action agent organization making an impact in the industries of recycling and the circular economy.

WHAT WE WILL TRUST YOU WITH – and how you will use your strengths.

  • Support long-term, trusting relationships with our Funding Partners
  • Grow operating revenue.
  • Oversee a portfolio of assigned Funding Partners.
  • Develop deeper relationships with those Funding Partners.
  • Execute strategies for growing revenue through grant opportunities.
  • Identify new potential Funding Partners that align with our overall mission.
  • Maintain customer relationship management and contract management systems.

Support administrative processes and marketing approaches to generate revenue and awareness of The Partnership.

AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE & EXPERTISE – things that matter most for this role

  • Minimum 3 years proven sales or development experience as a Sales Representative (Inside or Outside), Account Representative, Account Manager, or relevant role.
  • Demonstrable ability to develop and communicate proposals, present to key stakeholders, and maintain an organized pipeline of potential clients or customers.
  • Experience with CRM software and MS Office Suite.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple account management priorities at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated complex problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Sales or relevant field.

The Recycling Partnership is a rapidly growing, action-focused nonprofit, overhauling the U.S recycling system and activating a circular economy for packaging. We work on the ground with thousands of communities to transform underperforming recycling programs and tackle circular economy challenges. We work with companies to make their packaging more circular and help them meet their climate and sustainability goals. And we work with government to develop the policy solutions that will address the systemic needs of our residential recycling system.
