Cecilia Shutters, Community Program Manager
Cecilia has spent the last several years working at the intersection of efficiency, innovation, and environmentalism with nonprofits like the U.S. Green Building Council in Washington, D.C. and as the Director of Sustainability for Livable Buckhead. She now serves as a member of the Community Programs Team at The Recycling Partnership, overseeing the implementation of several large community grants including The Partnership’s work in Atlanta which seeks to optimize curbside, multi-family, and university recycling outcomes.
Why I Care About Recycling
“I care about recycling because it is a point source of climate activism – it’s the last choice we can make about what leaves our individual homes, and the first choice we can make to invest in our planetary home.”
Personal Passions and Interests
When not working on improving recycling in communities across the country, Cecilia is pursuing an Executive MBA from the Yale School of Management. She is an unofficial student of gardening, sustainable design, and Donut Economics, and loves a podcast during her daily walk with her goldendoodle Georgie.
- Master’s Degree in Public Policy with specialization in Energy and Environmental Policy from Georgia Institute of Technology
- Candidate for an Executive Master of Business Administration from the Yale School of Management
