Jen Rini, Storyteller

she/her/hers

A graduate of the University of Delaware with a B.A. in Mass Communications and a minor in Journalism, Jen began her career as the state government and politics reporter for the Delaware State News in 2012. During her time there, she covered political campaigns, legislation, and the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, among other topics. In 2014, she moved on to cover health and wellness for The News Journal, Delaware’s largest newspaper, where she dabbled in hard news, daily deadlines, and long-form feature stories. In 2016, Jen made the leap into state government, joining the Delaware House Majority Caucus as Deputy Communications Director. In this role, she coordinated strategic communications and collaborated with lawmakers, advocates, and stakeholders on communication plans. In March 2020, Jen joined the Delaware Department of Services for Children, Youth and Their Families, leading the agency’s internal and external communications, including media relations, social media content, and strategic, trauma-informed internal communications. Now as Storyteller for The Recycling Partnership, Jen is excited to work alongside a passionate team to continue to unlock stories of progress and innovation.

Why I Care About Recycling

Our planet is a wonder – and we can all do our part to make a difference. By taking steps to recycle, we can start the journey to give back in a meaningful way.

Personal Passions and Interests

Outside of work, Jen loves to travel and explore Delaware’s parks, beaches, and breweries with her husband, Jon, and pup, Sophie.
