Whit Faulconer, Development Director, Strategic Initiatives

Whit has been finding new ways to help advance higher standards through public and private sector partnerships for nearly 20 years. He helped The US Green Building Council develop the technical requirements for building products and materials for their LEED Rating Systems. He also has a background in Renewable Energy, helping corporations procure wind energy while at Apex Clean Energy in Charlottesville, Virginia, and as a Program Officer in New York City, executing over $80M in Energy and Environmental Justice grants. He conceived and launched a national effort to increase Equitable Outcomes of Renewable Energy, leveraging corporate procurement demand to advance renewable energy standards. At The Partnership, Whit supports the organization’s corporate engagement strategy, which is actively building a coalition of partners to deliver an effective U.S. recycling system – the critical first step on the path to circularity.

Why I Care About Recycling

As an Urban and Environmental Planner, Whit is all-in on recycling because while recycling alone cannot deliver a circular economy, we cannot hope to achieve circularity without a high-performing, equitable recycling system.

 Personal Passions and Interests
