The Polypropylene Recycling Coalition’s inaugural annual report highlights significant progress and momentum in improving the circularity of polypropylene (PP), also known as #5 plastic.
Together with its members, the Polypropylene Recycling Coalition has deployed more than $15 million in 60 grants across more than half of U.S. states, resulting in new or improved polypropylene recycling access for 48 million people.
“The Polypropylene Recycling Coalition was truly a first-of-its kind initiative for The Recycling Partnership. This was more than brands stepping up — we brought together key industry organizations that were saying, ‘We’ve got to do something.'”
– Brittany LaValley, Vice President of Materials Advancement, The Recycling Partnership
In this report, learn how the Polypropylene Recycling Coalition is improving recycling for this valuable material and working to drive a 5% increase in the U.S. polypropylene recycling rate by:
- Increasing community recycling program acceptance of polypropylene
- Ensuring more recycling facilities can successfully sort polypropylene
- Supporting responsible end markets
- Informing policy
Accomplishing a 5% increase in polypropylene recycling rates requires deploying $10 million in new capital throughout 2025, strategically focused on achieving critical milestones.
Together, we can transform the system and make a lasting impact on polypropylene recycling. Join us in driving this change to build a better recycling system.
