Karen Bandhauer, VP of Corporate Engagement Strategy(she/her/hers)
For almost 20 years, Karen has focused on helping companies, organizations, and government stakeholders align on common interests that lead to a healthier environment. She previously worked as an Environmental Scientist for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Chicago, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C. She also served as a Senior Consultant for the environmental consulting firm RRS, where she helped build The Recycling Partnership model. Her work has helped connect industry and government partners on a number of issues, including brownfield redevelopment, industrial materials reuse, green building practices, and supporting successful community recycling programs. At The Partnership, Karen leads the organization’s overall corporate engagement strategy, which is actively building a coalition of partners to deliver an effective U.S. recycling system – the critical first stop on the path to circularity.
Why I Care About Recycling
“I care about recycling because our resources are too valuable to bury. By recycling, I help mitigate the climate impacts of my purchases and support a heathy economy. Win-Win!”
Personal Passions and Interests
An avid runner and very novice skier, Karen, her family, and a collection of pets, have lived all over the country, but love their home in northern Colorado most.
