Statement in Response to The Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Global Commitment 2022 Progress Report

“It is extremely disappointing to see that more significant progress has not been made toward the 2025 Global Commitment goals. The Recycling Partnership exists to hold companies accountable and to assist them in the hard work of creating measurable change toward a circular economy for plastics. We founded the U.S. Plastics Pact together with the World Wildlife Fund as part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s Plastics Pact network in order to measure progress against clearly defined targets so stakeholders are forced to confront where they need to adjust course and refocus their energy. The time for action is now. Companies need to dramatically accelerate their work toward the 2025 goals and take meaningful steps such as investing in infrastructure improvements and supporting policy, to prove that real measurable progress is possible. We will continue to provide our expertise and guidance as we all work together to advance the circular economy.”
