MillerCoors Joins The Recycling Partnership to Transform Recycling for Good in the U.S.

Falls Church, VA – MillerCoors announced today it is joining 44 leading brands, retailers and organizations to support The Recycling Partnership and its mission to create a sustainable recycling system in the U.S. that creates more circular economy jobs, more material recovery and stronger, more equitable communities.

With support from its funding partners, The Recycling Partnership has helped 50 million households – more than a quarter of the U.S. population – recycle more and recycle better. Using a unique public-private partnership model, The Recycling Partnership has invested more than $43 million in recycling infrastructure, including 445,000 new recycling carts and catalyzed $6 million in statewide investment. By providing communities with critical infrastructure grants, expert assistance and free best-in-class tools and data, The Recycling Partnership is improving recycling in communities all across the U.S.

“A long-time sustainability leader, MillerCoors sets a high bar on what it means to ensure a healthier future,” said Keefe Harrison, CEO of The Recycling Partnership.“We are thrilled to have MillerCoors join The Partnership and help us scale measurable recycling system change across the country to create a better economy, stronger communities and a healthier planet for all.”

Whether helping provide convenient access to recycling for the more than 50 percent of Americans who still need it to working with communities coast to coast to decrease waste and capture more quality tons at the cart to empowering a strong peer-to-peer network to pursing policy, The Recycling Partnership is driving real system change.

”We are incredibly proud to partner with The Recycling Partnership and participate in efforts to transform and improve recycling throughout America,” said Diane Wagner, manager of sustainable development for MillerCoors. “Executing the best recycling and sustainable practices has always been a priority for our company, so this partnership is a natural fit and we’re excited about what we can accomplish together in the name of bettering our environment.”

About The Recycling Partnership
The Recycling Partnership (recyclingpartnership.org) is a national nonprofit organization that leverages corporate partner funding to transform recycling for good in states, cities and communities all across America. As the only organization in the country that engages the full recycling supply chain from the corporations that manufacture products and packaging to local governments charged with recycling to industry end markets, haulers, material recovery facilities, and converters; The Recycling Partnership positively impacts recycling at every step in the process. The Recycling Partnership has served more than 1,000 communities and counting with best-in-class tools, data, resources and technical support, placed 450,000 recycling carts, reached 50 million households, and helped companies and communities invest more than $43 million in recycling infrastructure. In doing so, The Recycling Partnership has created meaningful social, environmental, and economic change. By the end of 2019, the nonprofit change agent estimates it will have diverted 230 million pounds of new recyclables, saved 465 million gallons of water, avoided 250 thousand metric tons of GHG, and driven significant reductions in targeted contamination rates.
