Kyra Levau, MRF Project Coordinator

Kyra has worked in the recycling industry at both a University and County level. In her most recent role, Kyra served as the Community Engagement Supervisor for Orange County Solid Waste Management, where she helped develop high-impact diversion programs and outreach campaigns for residential and commercial sectors. Driven by her inherent passion for sustainability, Kyra combines her experience in community outreach with her knowledge of local recycling systems and data management to bolster the success of programs. As the MRF Project Coordinator, Kyra will be directly engaging with MRFs and communities that feed materials to the impacted MRFs to scale impact, maximize capture of recyclables and uncover potential grant opportunities.

Why I Care About Recycling

Recycling is a vital component to advancing the circular economy and mitigating climate change. Living in a world with finite resources, we have to prioritize the reuse and recycling of these valuable materials. Plus, the impact reaches far beyond the environmental landscape, it creates jobs and empowers communities.

Personal Passions and Interests

Kyra loves exploring new places, hiking, kayaking and going on long walks. When she’s not outside, she spends time crocheting, watching movies, cooking and baking.
