Lydia Keenan, Manager of Solutions Adoption

She/Her/Hers

Lydia graduated from the University of Utah with a BA in Environmental and Sustainability studies, as well as minors in Geography and Spanish, and a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) certificate. She worked in the conservation realm for a few years before switching gears to the waste and recycling industry with a position at Wasatch Resource Recovery, an anaerobic digestion project in Utah. Lydia then took a job with Recyclist in hopes of combining her passion for sustainable waste management and interest in the technology sector. There, she worked as a Customer Success Manager, assisting new clients with regulatory compliance tracking and program management. Recyclist was acquired by Routeware Global, and she continued her work under the new umbrella with a larger customer base and additional product lines.

Why I Care About Recycling and a Circular Economy

“To make impactful change, I believe it is important to engage with stakeholders across a variety of industries and backgrounds with differing experiences and perspectives. Waste and materials management is a space with many opportunities to introduce and enact sustainable practices and regulations and is also a universal experience – we all have waste! If we collaborate across industries to close the gaps in our production and disposal systems, I believe we can create a more sustainable world, while also improving the bottom line.”

Personal Passions and Interests

Lydia is passionate about the outdoors and spends weekends hiking, biking, skiing, camping, and adventuring with her husband and dog. She also enjoys cooking and has been attempting more house projects since purchasing a home. Physical activity is important to her, and she enjoys working out with her Peloton app or at her local hot yoga studio. This year, she wants to get back into knitting!
