Recycling professionals can apply through Tuesday, May 2, 2023, to have registration, hotel, and travel expenses covered.
The Recycling Partnership, in association with Resource Recycling, Inc, is excited to open applications for its Steve Thompson Memorial Grant Program to attend the 2023 Resource Recycling Conference.
Since 2017, the program has provided grants to nearly 200 recycling leaders to attend in-person Resource Recycling Conferences, the conference that continues to be the place where recycling program leaders meet to engage in system challenges and opportunities such as diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) strategy, behavior change, and fighting plastic waste. The 2023 conference will build on the momentum from 2022 which sold out with over 500 recycling professionals attending the 3-day, 40+ speaker event that delivered action-oriented content giving attendees new ideas and tactics to improve and provide the essential service of recycling to their residents.
Through the Steve Thompson Memorial Grant Program, recycling professionals and leaders can apply to have registration, a two-night hotel stay, and a travel stipend of $600 covered for the 2023 Resource Recycling Conference held August 14-16, 2023, in Orlando, Florida.
Steve Thompson was a recycling leader and champion and former Executive Director of The Recycling Partnership who worked tirelessly to move the industry forward and drive smart recycling solutions. The Partnership and Resource Recycling continue to honor him and his life’s work by offering these grants to outstanding recycling professionals from municipalities, states, and non-profits.
“Steve Thompson was an incredible advocate for the recycling industry and The Partnership is proud to continue to honor him through this program,” says Keefe Harrison, CEO of The Recycling Partnership. “Each year, we’re able to help recycling leaders collaborate with each other, learn from industry experts, and make connections that may not have been possible without this opportunity.”
As a mission-driven NGO dedicated to advancing recycling and the circular economy, The Recycling Partnership is proud to be a carbon-neutral organization by funding unique projects to offset carbon from our offices and travel. When The Partnership staff travel to RRC, this will be part of their calculation for 2023 carbon offsets – awarded grantees are encouraged to consider similar approaches to offset their own carbon footprint.
Applications are being accepted until the end of the day on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Resource Recycling and The Recycling Partnership team look forward to seeing you in Orlando.
